Never To Return – Chapter 6

Michelle’s POV

We’ve been living in Sugar Valley for over two years now, God has truly blessed us.  Mimi and Mason are now two years old. PJ decided to age up early, which was against my better judgement, but he had learned all his childhood skills, so I let him. He’s 13 now, he wasn’t too happy about taking this family photo though. PJ's looking more and more like his biological father, which means that I will soon have to sit him down and tell him the everything.





PJ got a part time job as a waiter, enrolled in culinary school, and took a cooking class. I’m quite proud of him for stepping up and taking on a part time job, to help out with the bills, although I told him that there was no need to, because James and I are both working now. I am now a self-employed gardener, and James is working for the Theatre in the musical career.



On his off days, James would help me with teaching the twins their skills….everything was going quite well for us.

PJ’s POV



I was hanging out one day, when I noticed this woman. She looked vaguely familiar to me, I’m not sure, but I think I’ve seen her somewhere before, I just can’t remember.



We started chatting and became friends instantly. She said her name was Anne, I don’t know her last name though. We started hanging out together, but I wasn’t to tell my parents. Anne said that they might get upset if they knew I was hanging out with an older woman. My parents had already had enough stress on them in the past, and I didn’t want to upset them, so I kept our secret, just as Anne asked of me.



She knew I wanted to tour the mausoleum, so she took me, and then the next day she took me to the pet store, to look at the pets.



While at the pet store, I saw the cutest puppy, I wanted him so bad, but I didn’t dare ask my parents for him, because they were still raising the twins. I decided then and there that I wanted to be a Canine Companion.





For the first time in my life, I had this uncontrollable urge to do something just to spite someone else. I think I was upset, because I wanted that puppy, but couldn’t ask my parents, or at least, I didn’t think I could. So, I stole the king snake that belonged to the pet store, and let it free.

Michelle’s POV



Since PJ got a part time job, and was going to school, we hardly saw him. The only time we did, was at night, when he was sleeping. We asked where he was in between the other times, and he had said he was hanging out with a friend. We just thought it was a friend from school, and we hadn’t been getting any calls on PJ, so we never thought anything of it. The twins were happy little tots and very independent, giving James and I the time we needed to focus on our gardening and guitar skills.



James and I are now adults, but we don’t feel a bit older.



James and I were watching the cooking channel, when the doorbell rang.



There was no one at the door, when I answered it. But, there was a small puppy in a bed, beside  the mailbox. I noticed some rolled up papers and a note inside the bed. The rolled up papers were the puppy’s registration papers. I read the note, then shoved it in my pocket, picked up the puppy, and ran straight to James.
