Never To Return: Chapter 3

8 months later, Pheonix West was born, he was evil, just like his father, but I just couldn’t fault a baby for the traits he inherits. I haven’t seen Theo since the day I found out that I was expecting, I did text him daily though, letting him know that I would still be his friend no matter what, I just needed some time to myself. I had been doing my studies at home ever since. I just have to tell him the truth now, there’s no way of hiding Pheonix from my best friend.



I called Theo up and told him I was ready to see him again, and invited him over. “Theo, I have something I need to tell you, and if you decide not to be my friend, I’ll understand.”



I then took my baseball hat off and showed him the truth about me. “I don’t understand”, Theo said. “I’m sorry I had to hide this from you, my best friend, I just couldn’t tell a soul who I really am. But, now I have to tell you, you’re the only one I trust with my secret. My real name is Mickayla Westmore.”



I proceeded to tell him of that awful day, and what that evil man had done to me.”I didn’t mean to kill him, I really didn’t!”, I cried, with tears running down my cheeks. “And, I’m so sorry that I didn’t tell you sooner, 8 months ago, I found out that I was carrying his child”.



“Shhh, don’t say any more, come here”, Theo said, as he took me in his arms, where he held me, until my tears dried up.



After that, we sat down on the sofa and talked. I explained to Theo how I was an orphan and how if they found me, I would go to jail. In just couldn’t go to jail, especially now. “But, can’t you tell the police here, about what he did to you?”, Theo asked. “If they call the orphanage, they won’t believe a word I say. You see, the housemother despises children, the only reason she let me out that day, was because it was my 16th birthday, and she didn’t want to deal with me any more.”, I explained my fears. “That’s why I must stay pretending to be a boy, because they won’t be looking for a boy, they’ll be looking for a girl”, I continued.  “Ok, I promise I won’t tell a soul, I’ll even help you look more like a boy”, promised Theo.



Not even an hour later, after cutting my hair and giving me some of his clothes, he had me looking more like a boy.



“Oh thank you!”, I squealed, as I jumped into Theo’s arms. “You’re very welcome”, he said. As I rested in his arms, I realized that I had feelings for Theo. But for now, I would have to shove them to the back burner, I had a baby to raise.



Speaking of Pheonix, Theo would come over everyday after school to spend time me my baby and I. He stayed by me the entire time.



Before I knew it, my baby had turned one, having that man’s hair and lips. He is so cute. I promised myself that no matter what Pheonix looked like, I would never resent him, and I won’t. It’s not his fault his evil father did what he did to me. My only worry, was what would happen when he grew up, if he looked just like his father, someone might figure out what I had done. But, I couldn’t worry about it until then, it would do no good.



Theo and I soon celebrated our 18th birthdays, making us young adults. That is when we decided to buy a bigger home and be roommates. Theo promised he would keep Pheonix and I safe. So far, everyone in Sunset Valley thought we were a gay couple with an adopted baby, and we figured that was better than having a chance of me being found. We knew the truth and that’s all that mattered to us.



By the time Theo and I had gotten everything moved into the new home, Pheonix was starving, so I put him in his new highchair and gave him some cereal.



“No matter what, I’ll always love you Pheonix.”



I soon managed to get Pheonix talking…I had taught him to call me Mama, but after that, I had to explain to everyone in Sunset Valley that to Pheonix, I was the Mama and Theo was the Daddy, in our little family.



As Theo worked, I managed to get Pheonix walking, and I spent my days cleaning up after him. But, I was truly happy with our little family, and more importantly, Pheonix was a very happy little tot. So far, I couldn’t see any evil in him, and I hope to never see him act on it either.



As for Theo and I, our bond grew tighter and tighter, day by day.



We eventually decided to get married, but we had our own little private wedding inside our home. My precious Theo wanted me to be able to wear a wedding dress, just like I’ve always wanted, so he went out and bought one just like Princess Kate’s and an outfit for him, just like Prince William’s. In our eyes we were and still are each other’s Prince and Princess.



The day after our wedding, we called a photographer and got a family photo taken in our water fountain, that is placed in our front yard. We have committed ourselves to wearing pink, for Breast Cancer Awareness, hence the pink shirts. Pheonix wouldn’t sit still at first, but he soon got that he had to be still for the photographer. I think it turned out pretty good, what about you?
